About this course

Our QNUK 3-Day, Level 3 Award for Physical Intervention Trainers for Close Protection Operatives in the Private Security Industry (RQF). Intended for trainers who wish to offer physical intervention skills training to Door Supervisor (DS) or Close Protection Operatives (CPO), for the Level 2 part of any Full or Top-up course.

From the Security Industry Skills and Qualifications Review (SISQR) in 2018/2019 and the subsequent physical Intervention consultations, it was agreed that a new requirement for Door Supervisors & Close Protection operatives to undertake physical intervention skills training. Since June 2010. Physical intervention skills for door supervisor linked qualifications and trainers offering the Level 2 qualification must have completed this trainers qualification (approved model).

Physical intervention skills require, in some work environments to dynamically risk assess and then manage challenging behaviour safely. Depending on the risks identified within the workplace this can involve anything from avoidance to non-pain disengagement skills through to SIA approved extraction, escorting and holding skills.

Successful completion of the course permits new trainers with everything to deliver the Level 2 Application of Physical Intervention for Door Supervisors and the added Level 2 Physical Intervention for Close Protection, through any of the SIA recognised Awarding Organisations (AO)

What is the Crossover Course

You will transfer from your existing Physical Intervention Model for Door Supervisors and add the new Physical Intervention for Close Protection Operatives – This combined approach between the models provides you with realistic and consistent training delivery

Alternatively, you can transition over (2 Day Course) so you keep your current PI model and only complete the 2-day transition model
