About this course

Welcome to the QNUK 3-Day Close Protection Top-Up Training Course . From the 1st October 2022 the new Close Protection top-up training came into effect. All those who are required to renew their licence will have to complete the top-up training to be brought up to date with the new SIA licence-linked qualifications requirements.

From the Security Industry Skills and Qualifications Review (SISQR) in 2018/2019 and the subsequent physical Intervention consultations, it was agreed that a new requirement for Door Supervisors & Close Protection operatives to undertake physical intervention skills training. From June 2010. Physical intervention skills have been part of the door supervisor linked qualifications.  Now it is the requirement of all CPO’s to have the new close protection top up training, to ensure they have physical intervention training.

QNUK is the only awarding organisation to be able to deliver this qualification over a 3 day period and not 5 days. This is achieved by completing pre-course work and combining fragmental elements of the Door Supervisor and Close Protection Physical Intervention units that are converged.
