Welcome to the Staying Safe Online course, this e-learning course creates an awareness to educate and inform delegates of basic online security concepts, so that you can gain invaluable tools to aid in your online security through better security practices.
Many of us spend part of our working life online. However, not everyone is aware of the security risks associated with using the internet for work or pleasure. This course will introduce you to the hazards and show you how to manage them. This course will provide you with the knowledge to create a personal safety mindset, as well as develop avoidance understanding.
This short course considers:
You will be guided through basic security concepts whilst online and this course is designed for not only people that work online, but also for any individual that accesses the world wide web.
Work through the eLearning course at your own pace and once complete don’t forget to download the attendance certificate
Module 1 – Welcome to the course
In this module you will be introduced to Trisat terms and how to get the most from the course (PDF). Then you will be provided with a basic Introduction to Information Security & Staying Safe Online video. The last part of this module is to establish what you already know, so that we can assess your learning objectives at the end of the course.
Module 2 – Information Security & Staying Safe Online
This is the main module of the course providing the course content on how to become more secure whilst online. You will be provided with the following:
1. The first part is the e-learning and by the end of this module delegates will be able to understand:
– The risks associated with working online
– How to recognise phishing and malware attacks
– How to practise strong email and password security
– How to stay safe while using the internet or working remotely
– What to do if you are worried about your online security
2. A quiz that focusses on the main points of the course
3. More Information Security & Staying Safe Online Resources for you
4. A recap video on elements to be remembered
Module 3 – Before you go
You will need to answer questions on the course material from a CPD perspective and then you will be able to rate the course and download your certificate.
