With the current COVID-19 pandemic and the government rules on wearing face masks being introduced, retail and customer facing services have started seeing a rise in aggressive behaviour towards staff members that are informing people to wear masks. The BBC reported on the 27th May 2020 that even paramedics are being abused and even assaulted.
This is not just exclusive to the UK, this phenomenon is happening globally as new measures are introduced to reduce the spread of the virus. It is important that your members of staff are equipped to not only de-escalate these situations, but also to identify when these situations are going to occur.
This course is based on government guidelines as well as basic security advice to ensure your employees are provided with the correct tools to manage these situations. The course includes the following:
– Government guidelines on wearing a Mask
– Being prepared through proactive measures
– Assessing the situation and reading basic body language
– Understand your emotional response
– De-escalation strategies
– What to do if you cannot de-escalate
You will be guided through a very interactive video animation that is easy to follow and provides basic security and personal safety strategies and concepts. The course is self-paced and can be taken at anytime from anywhere.
